The New York Times

What I did

As a recipient of the prestigious James Reston Fellowship from The New York Times in 2018, I worked as a reporter at the paper’s Metro desk. While there, I wrote feature stories on a variety of topics, ranging from a story Aaron Philip, the first ever black-transgender model signed to a major agency a fashion industry pioneer, to an article about struggles to keep the city’s elite public schools diverse. I also wrote and shoot multimedia features about a community of dirt bike riders from the city, as well as a popular day party in Queens.
